Last week, Drama students at Bloxham greatly enjoyed Alex Gwyther’s production of “Our Friends, the Enemy”

Last week, Bloxham School’s Third Form and academic drama students were treated to a performance of Alex Gwyther’s “Our Friends, the Enemy”, a ‘one-man play’ about the Christmas Truce of 1914.

Ben Elliott writes, ‘by having a very small stage, the actor was easily able to draw the audience in. It also contained very effective sound effects and music, meaning that I was immersed in the events.’ Gwen Cook felt that ‘it was a very interesting and moving piece of work’ and Lizzie Neal appreciated Gwyther’s ability to move effectively between characters. The Third Form enjoyed the performance greatly and were moved by the various stories skilfully built in to this impressive feat of theatre.
