OB Scott Bowley has seen his new band Crushed Beaks go from strength to strength, with their new single premiering on BBC Radio 1

OB Scott’, who left Bloxham back in 2007, is celebrating the success of his new band Crushed Beaks as they have launched themselves onto the music scene. Their new single, “Rising Sign”, recently premiered on BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens’ show and is the lead track from their soon-to-be-launched debut album. The band comprises Scott on the bass, Matt Poile on vocals and the guitar and Alex Morris on the drums. The album, set to be released in February 2015, was‘produced by Pete “Hutch” Hutchings and recorded in film composer Fabio Frizzi’s Rome studio.

The band, whose music has been described by one critic as combining “off-the-cuff garage attitude and energy” with “elements of shoegaze melancholia, blues influenced tones and dry southern soul” will be performing their next gig at London’s The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch on 15th November 2014.

Scott was previously bassist in “One Track Mind”, one of many accomplished bands fostered over the years by Jon Seagroatt and Matt Bosworth in the Sam Kahn Music School.
