Bloxham School will be selling the ceramic poppies made by Lower School pupils, with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion

As many parents will know, we were very fortunate to have local Potter Will Lehmann deliver a workshop for students to help them create their own ceramic poppies. Will is based at Whichford Pottery, which made 100,000 of the poppies displayed at the Tower of London last year.

The stunning poppies were displayed around the Headmaster’s Lawn as part of the Remembrance events this week. 79 poppies will remain in the grounds, in memory of those Old Bloxhamists who died in the First World War. In response to requests from parents, the rest will be sold to raise money for charity.

Lower School parents will have first refusal (since these students have their own, in some cases initialed, poppies), and then any left-over poppies will be made available to other parents. Parents are invited to make a suggested donation of around £10 for a stemmed poppy and £5 for a poppy head, payable on collection from the Art Department. Please bring cash only. Proceeds will be shared between Help for Heroes and the British Legion. Please pop into the Art Department at drop off/ pick up to collect your poppy by Wednesday 25th November (Lower School parents) and by Friday 11th December (other parents).
