Well done to all the runners in the house cross country competition!
The annual house cross country competition took place on Wednesday 14th December 2016.
Running conditions were fantastic, with bright blue skys and soft ground, and the competitors pushed themselves hard, resulting in exciting sprint finishes as they fought for places! The finished runners all stayed behind to support and encourage the rest of the competitors through the finish.’
Wilberforce had a clear win in the senior girls’ category, taking eight out of the top ten places. The individual winner was Imogen C (Wf) with Raymond’s Amelia H in a close second. ‘It was Raymond’s turn for a win in the junior girls’ category, although the top two places were taken by Kitty J (first) and Jennifer J (second) from Wilberforce.
In the senior boys’ event Wilson just beat Seymour to the winner’s post, with Crake and Egerton coming third and fourth respectively. Harry S (Sy) came first individually, with Jonty R-R (Cr) in second.’
Seymour took the winner’s spot in the Junior boys’ event, followed by Egerton, Wilson then Crake. Samuel S (Sy) broke the school record with a time of 17.20, followed by Thomas H (Wn) in second.
