The Matthew’s Mission Garden Party, held in September 2016, raised a mammoth ‘1130 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Bloxham School hosted a hugely successful Garden Party on the 3rd September 2016, in aid of Matthew’s Mission, which fundraises for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital provided 3-year-old Matthew Russell with exceptional care when he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, Burkitt’s leukaemia/lymphoma at the end of 2015. Matthew’s Mum and Dad, Kelly and Andy Russell set up Matthew’s Mission to raise money for the hospital which has saved countless children’s lives, provides exceptional care and is constantly striving to ensure a more reassuring stay for children and their families.

The Garden Party was the brain child of Head Chef, Patricia Towers and Chef, Oliver Cowley and every member of the Bloxham catering team was involved in giving their free time in some way. Goods were donated by Bloxham’s catering supplier, who also supplied prizes for the raffle and Shannonside Civil engineering donated a further ‘200 to boost the total money raised.

Kelly and Andy came into the school on Friday 23rd September to pick up their cheque and thank the team for their incredible effort.
