Santa hats and festive jumpers replaced the usual uniform at Bloxham School yesterday, Monday 1 December, as students and staff got dressed for Christmas to raise funds for Katharine House Hospice.

The Christmas Jumpers and Hats Day was organised by Fourth Form Business Studies students and included a competition for the best jumper as well as a Christmas themed Bake Off event and stalls selling gifts and doughnuts.

The event was part of the first ever Karcher Accumulator Challenge. Karcher, one of the largest manufacturers of electrical products, gave a £50 start-up fund to each organisation taking part.

Euan Wales, a Fourth Form Business Studies student at Bloxham School, said: “We have really enjoyed taking on the challenge of finding innovative and creative ways to raise as much money as possible for the vital work of Katharine House Hospice. We organised a fun, Christmas event which was easy for everyone at the School to take part in and so far we’ve raised nearly ‘500”.

Katharine House Hospice will announce the winner of the Accumulator Challenge at an awards ceremony later this month.
