The Dewey was jam-packed on Sunday as Old Bloxhamists and friends of the school return for OB Day.

It was excellent to see so many Old Bloxhamists come back to Bloxham on Sunday for the annual Old Bloxhamist Day. We welcomed members of the 200 Club for lunch, as well as Banbury Hockey Club who played against Old Bloxhamist 1st XI. It has been a number of years since we had a OB netball match, so we are very thankful to OB Molly Kirk for organising a team to play against the school’s 1st VII. The team made a very memorable come-back, beating the girls 26-18!

The hockey matches are played in memory of Paddy Kellett (Wn ’05-’10), a keen hockey player whilst at the school, so the day began with a service in Bloxham churchyard and a one minute silence was held before the games. Banbury Hockey Club played against the OB 1st XI, which proved to be a very close and tense match resulting in BHC winning 4-3. Steve Campbell, BHC player and coach to Bloxham’s 1st XI was awarded the Paddy Kellett Cup.

The OB 2nd XI played against the school’s 1st team, and despite some excellent saves from the OB goalkeeper, the school won 3-1. Current Bloxhamist, Jack, was awarded “Best Player” by OB Giles Clayson.

Sunday was a fantastic day, thank you to everyone who came along – both players and spectators – to support the occasion. You can find more photos from the day on our Facebook page.
