The Seymour House Pink Lectures of 2017 was kick-started by a visit from OB and Sky Sports Correspondent, Tim Abraham

Tim Abraham (Eg/Sy 1978-82) was part of the first intake of pupils into Seymour House, which officially opened in 1981, with Ralph Ullmann as first Housemaster. Some 35 years later, Seymour House was delighted to welcome Tim back.

As a Cricket Correspondent for Sky Sports, Tim has covered England home and away, including over 27 overseas Test tours, four Ashes Series in Australia, and six ICC World Cups. He shared how he began his career working for a Cardiff radio station, later joining BSkyB in 1993 as a football reporter, and was involved in the launch of Sky Sports Centre, and eventually, Sky Sports News. During this period, he created and developed the position of full time Cricket Correspondent a role which many of the Bloxham community will recognise him for.’

Current Seymour pupil, George, expressed admiration for the way in which Tim knew what he wanted to achieve in his career, and that his time at Bloxham gave him the confidence and belief that he could realise it. The lecture concluded with a Q&A session which included stories about interviews with famous England cricketers, and of course, the inevitable “awkward moment” experienced by every journalist.
