Crake House’s charity fundraising swim over summer has raised more than ‘800 for a Kenyan school project

Proud Crake Housemaster, Mr Richard Devesa, would like to congratulate the boys and tutors in his house for their sterling efforts in the sponsored swim which they organised and took part in back in June this year.

Sponsorship money has now all been collected and counted and the boys’ hard work has seen them raise ‘810. The money will go towards’the building of a school for orphans in the north of Nairobi, Kenya, a school project which was started about four years ago.

The sponsored swim took place on 26th June 2014 and saw the boys and their tutors swim as many lengths as they could in 30 minutes. In total, 26 boys and their five tutors took part in the challenge.’

Now, for the stats:
Total number of lengths swum: 1594
Average number of lengths swum per swimmer:’43
Total distance swum: 22.6 miles (equivalent to swimming the length of the English channel and a little more!

Congratulations to everyone who took part in this challenge and helped to raise money for such an important cause. Keep up the good work!
