Zoe Souter, Marketing Manager at Cond’ Nast College of Fashion & Design, shared her thoughts at the latest Careers Breakfast Club

Thank you to Laban for his report on Monday’s Careers Breakfast Club with Zoe Souter, Marketing Manager at’Cond’ Nast College’of Fashion & Design.

We met Zoe at 7.30am in the Egerton Library, ready to start this term’s Careers Breakfast Club. Zoe began by telling us about her background – how she began working for a photographer, before quickly filtering into the fashion industry, managing and’organising photoshoots for Vogue.’After a general chat about life in the fashion industry, Zoe talked to the group about some of the influential characters she had met during her career in Vogue. She then went on to describe her move to Cond’ Nast College of Fashion & Design, where she is now working as a Marketing Manager, talking to us about the college, what students can do there, and what some of their alumni had gone on to do. Finally,’Zoe showed us a presentation she had put together about Cond’ Nast as the publishing house. The presentation included the many magazines owned by Cond’ Nast, for example GQ , Glamour and Vanity Fair.‘ However, what really caught my attention was a website called Show Studio – a blog set up by fashion photographer Nick Knight in 2000, containing a rich banquet of video archives ranging from live catwalk broadcasts to fashion shoot footage.

Many thanks to Zoe for coming in and sharing her experiences with some of our students. It provided a valuable insight into the fashion industry and really goes to highlight the breadth of opportunities available within the sector.
