Amongst the new students making their way through Bloxham’s iconic arch this week are the school’s first day students, in what marks a new and exciting chapter in the school’s long history.

The students’ new base will be Stonehill House a beautiful Hornton stone building in the heart of the village, which has long been part of the Bloxham estate. After months of refurbishment, the house looks stunning, with a stylish interior created by local designer and Old Bloxhamist Sam Humphries.

As members of Stonehill House, the students will enjoy all the benefits of a Bloxham education: first class academic tuition, a rich and varied broader curricular programme, and excellent pastoral care. They will enter into inter-house competitions and have their own socials and dances. However, they will not have the opportunity to board; their fees will reflect this, making Stonehill an attractive option for many local families who want to join Bloxham’s vibrant community, but live close enough not to board.

Stonehill’s new Housemistress, Jacqui Skevington, who is also Head of Boarding and Welfare at Bloxham School, said: ‘I feel hugely privileged to be taking the helm at Stonehill and I am just as excited as the students about making this our new home. The new students are a very talented bunch and I have no doubt they will settle quickly and soon begin to make their mark.
