Bloxham student Toby Steele recently competed at the Pony Club Eventer Challenge at Blenheim Palace
Toby Steele, a student here at Bloxham, has kindly written a report on his exciting event day at a recent Pony Club event at Blenheim Palace:
My trip to Blenheim Palace was one that I will never forget. The event that I took part in was a Pony Club Eventer Challenge. I had to jump eight showjumps followed by seven cross-country fences and then one more showjump to finish. The course was very challenging because it was very twisty, with lots of combinations and skinnies making it very technical. Unfortunately on this occasion I had two poles down, which left me on eight faults and, with it being such a stiff course, no other members of my team succeeded in going clear either. Our team finished on twenty faults – for a while it looked as though we were going to be placed but sadly we were knocked out towards the end.
