Bloxham School Boarders paid visits to a number of London attractions, including Westminster Hall, Trafalgar Square and The Reform Club in Pall Mall.

The day started with a trip to Westminster Hall, before lunch in St James’s Park. The School Chaplain, Gerard Moate, then gave the boarders a tour of the Reform Club in Pall Mall. The Reform Club was founded in response to the Great Reform Act, 1832, becoming the centre of the new Liberal Party. Over the years the Club has evolved, and since around 1920 it has functioned purely as a social club. The building, designed by Charles Barry, was inspired by Italian renaissance architecture and is considered to be one of the finest Victorian buildings in the country. The group then paid a visit to Trafalgar Square, where they admired Nelson’s Column and the iconic stone lions, followed by a stop at Fortnum and Mason. The international students particularly enjoyed the chance to buy some traditional British food and drink. The boys and girls were given an hour to peruse the shops in Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street, before heading back on the train for a yummy roast dinner back at school.
