Last week, the cast of Bloxham’s original play, ’79’ gave four sell-out performances to some hugely appreciative audiences

Last week saw the hard work of our dedicated cast members for Bloxham’s latest production, ’79’, finally come to fruition as we welcomed almost 1000 visitors through the doors of the Great Hall for four sell-out performances.

Both cast members and those busy behind the scenes have put an enormous amount of effort into preparations for this play, which had been timed to coincide with the centenary of the First World War.’

Congratulations to the cast and crew for putting on such a fantastic production, it was a real credit to the hard work of the Drama Department over the last months. Many thanks to all members of the audience who came along to support the show – it was a real pleasure to welcome current, future and past members of our school community.

“Awesome… Who needs the West End?”

“Tonight I was privileged to watch this truly superb and professional production with wonderful music, sets and vintage footage backdrop. The dedication and complete involvement of the students was a real joy. The composition, instrumentalists, actors, singers and technicians were all of the very highest standards and the whole moving production flowed flawlessly. Kudos to the producer and all those involved in assembling this wonderful piece. This deserves to be taken to the next step of exposure! I am so impressed!”

“We had a fantastic evening and were so impressed by the play… it was emotional, poignant and thought provoking. I couldn’t believe it had all been devised by the children and staff themselves. It’s certainly a piece of work to be proud of…”
