Sarah Lafford joined Bloxham School in September 2020 as a Biology Teacher and Wilberforce Housemistress.
Sarah was really keen to experience coeducational boarding, having been in other boarding environments since 2002, and was impressed by the values that underpin the school. Trust, kindness, encouragement, and mutual respect are fundamental components of Wilberforce’s House culture.
Sarah loves the countryside, having been brought up in Ireland and a farm in Wales, where she fed 300 pigs before school. Sarah is a keen horsewoman, having her own horse, two cats and two lively Italian Greyhounds. She loves reading, classical music and being involved in anything that happens outdoors.
Prior to 2002, Sarah was privileged to be able to combine teaching part-time with working for the British Rowing Team, as their sports massage therapist for two Olympic cycles. She has been involved in running Duke of Edinburgh, water-sports and white-water rafting school trips.
Her current aspirations are to cycle one of the highest road passes in Wales, Bwlch-y -Groes, used by the Austin Motor Company to road test, and to get on a climbing wall!
