The Old Bloxhamist Racing Partnership, made up of a dozen Old Bloxhamists, parents and former staff, embarks on its second season with high hopes. The partnership’s horses run in the school colours of black and white, and were placed on two occasions last season.

Trainer Billy Aprahamian (Sy 06-08) worked as Assistant Trainer to the legendary Nicky Henderson for three seasons and has now set up on his own at his stables at Adstone, near Towcester, where he has recently installed a state-of-the-art deep sand gallop.

Billy reports: “Dazzling Dove was fantastic for us last season and we look forward to her being out late October/early November, she will start back over hurdles. There is unfinished business there for sure; we schooled her over a fence last year so we may well try her over fences at some point. Kalkas, the first OB’s horse is back in full work after sustaining a leg injury last year. He is a classy two mile chaser and will be a sight to behold running over two miles and the larger obstacles. All being well with his return, we will see him out at the turn of the new year.”

OB Racing Partnership – Dazzling Dove won 3rd place at Lingfield, February 2023 (L-R: Colin Stewart, jockey James Bowen, Dazzling Dove with her groom, Dominic Ellis (Sy 03-08) and Charlie Aprahamian (Cr 06-11).
