On the evening of Thursday 25th January, The RAF Club in London’s Piccadilly proved a great venue for the Old Bloxhamist community to gather for the much-anticipated OB London Meet. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for nearly 100 guests to catch up, reconnect and forge new bonds.

In his speech, the Headmaster welcomed Old Bloxhamists from far and wide, spanning eight decades. He thanked Martin Keats (Cr 70-74) and his wife, Olivia, for hosting us at The RAF Club. The Headmaster was delighted to share news about the thriving nature of current school life.

The evening flew by with lively story-telling and reminiscing. For many, it was a trip down memory lane, prompted by photographs on display and friends with whom to relive various school antics. It was super to see current and former members of staff meet up with so many of their past pupils. Our thanks go to Debbie Herring (Staff 09-23), Chris Newbould (Staff 82-12), Andrew Whiffin (Staff 88-09), Mark and Jacqui Skevington, Simon Batten, Matt Bull and the Headmaster for providing such wonderful company.

A highlight was the gathering of two reunion years: the Classes of 2004 and 2014. We were delighted to welcome both cohorts, and it was lovely for friends who hadn’t seen each other since their school days to be able to catch up.

It was also an opportunity for guests to find out about each other’s career paths and form some useful new connections. We are very grateful to so many who showed a willingness to share their professional experience and offer guidance to the current Bloxham pupils and the next generation of Old Bloxhamists either through visiting Bloxham to give a talk or attend a careers event.

As the evening drew to a close, there was much talk of OB gatherings later in the year and of visits to Bloxham, and we very much look forward to welcoming the Old Bloxhamist community to future events.
