Bloxham Equestrians Achieve Another Podium Place at NSEA Hickstead Championships!

For the second year running, a talented and committed team of Bloxham riders went to the NSEA Hickstead Championships over the bank holiday weekend. We had qualifiers in two teams and three individual classes, with every rider proving their talent and determination against the best interschools riders from around the UK.

Our County Show Jumping 90 Championship team of three – Bridget, Jemima and Freddie – rode early in the Monday class and all rode superb clear rounds then had a long and nail biting wait while 24 other teams, who were mostly teams of 4 with the advantage of a discard score, completed the day long competition. At the end of the day and a long weekend they achieved a podium position with 3rd place!

Our County Show Jumping Team of Tamsin, Jemima and Freddie rode brilliantly in the 100 County Show Jumping Championships on Sunday to finish a very creditable 9th in another huge class.

Tamsin also competed in the 110 Individual County Show Jumping Class and rode an impeccable clear round to finish in 10th place!

Freddie qualified as an individual in the 80 Eventer Challenge Championships and rode yet another lovely round on his sister’s pony but not close enough to the optimum time for a place.

Bridget, like all our riders, showed great horsemanship skills and achieved a clear round as part of the 3rd placed show jumping team.

Jemima had an amazing weekend as she also qualified for both the 90 and 100 Eventer Challenge Championships as well as riding in both show Jumping teams. Not quite close enough to the optimum time in the 90 class for a placing but a fantastic round in the 100 EC Championships to come 7th individually on the Saturday. That made a great total of four competitions and four clear rounds for her.

Huge congratulations to all our riders and many, many thanks to their parents and support teams for giving up a bank holiday weekend to go camping at Hickstead. Your support, commitment and diligence is fantastic and very much appreciated. Bloxham would not be waving the flag in style at the 2025 Championshjps without you.
