Application

If you are interested in applying for a live vacancy at Bloxham School, please complete the required application form (available on the vacancy listing) and send it to the HR Department at [email protected].

Completed application forms will be passed to the recruitment panel for shortlisting and will be reviewed against the person specification detailed in the advert. Applications will be assessed upon receipt and we reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date. An early application is therefore strongly advised.

Please note that we are unable to accept CVs as a form of application.

Unsuccessful Applications

If your application has been unsuccessful in reaching the interview stage, you will be contacted via email by the HR Department after the advert closing date.

Unfortunately due to the high number of applications we receive, we are not able to provide feedback at this stage.

Interview Process

The interview process is an opportunity for the shortlisting panel to learn more about the candidates and for the candidates to visit Bloxham School. Applicants who have been shortlisted to the interview stage will be contacted by the HR Department with full details of the interview schedule. Interviews for academic vacancies will take place throughout the teaching day and will usually include interviews with the recruitment panel, a lesson observation and a tour of the school grounds. Support role interviews will vary in format but will normally consist of a panel interview.

It is Bloxham School’s normal practice to seek references after shortlisting and prior to the interview stage. If you do not wish your references to be requested prior to interview, please indicate this on your application form.

Safeguarding

Bloxham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the DBS. We also ask shortlisted candidates to re-read the Application and Recruitment Explanatory Note prior to interview:

GUIDANCE ON RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

Further guidance on the recruitment and selection of staff can be found in the following policy:

GUIDANCE ON RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION of staff

Appointments

Following the interview stage, the recruitment panel will meet to discuss all the candidates and make a decision with reference to the job description and person specification. Any offer to a successful candidate will be conditional upon satisfactory pre-employment checks. The HR Department will be in contact to begin this process.

We look forward to welcoming successful candidates to Bloxham School.
