The Netball season ended on a high with a visit from a professional netball player, appearances for the Netball National Performance League and a celebration of successes with the end of season awards.
Fourth Form and Exham House enjoyed a games session with professional netball player, Georgia Lees. Georgia plays for Saracens Mavericks, plays Wing Attack and was the vice captain for this season. Georgia juggles her sporting priorities alongside her work in an A&E department for the NHS. Her visit also included meeting some of our athletes from our Talented Athletes Programme and presenting our end of season awards.
The Easter break saw the closing weekend of the England Netball National Performance League (NPL), held in Nottingham. Congratulations to Jenna L., 1st team captain, who played for the U19 Central Warriors team, after recovering from an injury that hindered her playing time this season. Congratulations also to Holly M. (Fourth Form) who was chosen to play for Central Warriors PDP against Loughborough Lightning. Holly was also awarded Bloxham’s Adkins Trophy for her involvement with netball in local clubs, the Warriors and as a young umpire. For a full list of end of season award-winners, see below.
And finally, further congratulations to Head of Netball, Lisa Manning, who saw success with coaching the U19 Saracens Mavericks alongside Tamsin Greenway, winning a silver medal for second place in the league.
