Bloxham School Minibus Service

Bloxham School currently operates 7 minibus routes (detailed below). Bloxham’s location is well supported by the local road network and we are able to serve children from all points of the compass. We limit our journeys to one hour. The minibus service runs between 07:00 to 08:00 and 18:10 to 19:10 Monday to Friday within term time. Where possible we follow the major routes into Bloxham and arrange for a certain number of collection points to try to support the service as best as possible.
The service works on a commitment basis (ie not pay as you go or ad-hoc). You can commit to up to 10 journeys per week, but you will be asked to nominate the day and journey (ie Mon am, pm and Tues pm only). Journeys can’t be accrued if one is missed, but we may have some flexibility on the routes should you wish to swap a journey within the week. For this to happen we will require 24 hours’ notice to be given to the Transport Manager by email and it will depend upon availability on the minibus you wish to swap to. If there are any last-minute changes (ie your child is unwell), we would ask you to contact the driver. However, for all other matters please contact the Transport Manager on 01295 724398.
The routes are reviewed on an annual basis, but we do try to keep changes to a minimum. In order to plan successful routes over the summer holidays, parents are asked to confirm their child’s commitment on their minibus route towards the end of the Summer Term.
We operate on a first come, first served basis and if a reply is not received by the cut-off date, their seat may be given to another student who has requested the service. For further information or to register your interest please complete this online form. The cut-off date for new applications or renewals is Friday 19th July 2019.
Children swapping route or one off journey permission from parents
As we work on a commitment basis, we don’t offer one off journeys to students who are not signed onto the service. If a parent requests a student travels on a different route than they would normally use, the parent of the student will need to email the Transport Manager with 24 hours’ notice requesting their child travel on the changed route.
You will be billed termly in arrears and therefore the cost will be added to your extras fee bill each term. The cost is based on a zonal system calculated by the mileage away from Bloxham and how many trips your child commits to. The charges are reviewed on an annual basis and you would be advised of any changes well in advance. More information on current zones and changes can be obtained online.
