It is with great sadness that we report of the passing of one of the oldest Old Bloxhamists, Raymond Keith Laing Gardner (Wn 34-38).

Keith Gardner attended Bloxham School from 1934-38 and was in Wilson House. His older brother, John (Wn 33-37), also attended the School but sadly died in July 1939, ‘killed flying in Perthshire’.

Keith served as a Captain in the Royal West Kent Regiment during the Second World War. In 1945 he wed his childhood sweetheart, Jeanne, and they were happily married for 67 years. His working life was spent mainly with Dent, Allcroft & Co., a manufacturer of fine leather gloves. The family lived for many years in Nottinghamshire and then moved back to Kent, where Keith had spent his younger life.

During his retirement, he and Jeanne enjoyed travelling, walking, gardening and spending time with their family. They leave two daughters, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
