Trip to the Battle of the Composers

Earlier this month, Bloxham's musicians enjoyed a John Williams vs. Hans Zimmer Battle of the Composers at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Fourth Form student, Jack D, reports; 'The entire performance of John William’s vs. Hans Zimmer was incredible and played by many talented people in the orchestra. The battle of the composers was incredible to hear. I thought that all the pieces played were outstanding. I knew all the themes that were played and they all portrayed so much emotion. For this reason I especially liked Schindler’s List, in which the lead violinists solo sounded exactly like that of the film. Overall, I enjoyed both the composers as much as each other.'

Students enjoyed performances of classic theme tunes from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Batman, Superman, ET and Harry Potter.
