French Alps Trip 2018
Last week, Second Form students embarked on an adventure filled week of activities in the French Alps.
This annual trip is always a hit with students and this year it did not disappoint, with students enjoying outward-bound activities such as canyoning, via ferrata, white water rafting and mountain biking. Students were also encouraged to prep and cook their own food one evening, having visited the market earlier in the day to buy local produce (and practise their French!).
Strength and endurance was put to the test at the end of the week when the group departed on a two-day overnight hike to the glacier, climbing over 3000m altitude to reach Refuge Furfande, where they spent the night before their descent.
All in all, a brilliant week of fun, adrenaline and teamwork enjoyed by everyone. A huge thanks to OB Giles Cornah (Wn 94-97) and his wife Anne for their on-going hospitality and support, which without them, this trip would be unable to go ahead, and to Mrs H, Mr Smithson and Padre Weaver for leading the trip.
