Geography Conference Helps A-level Students Ahead of Exams

Bloxham School David Redfern Geography ConferenceOn Monday 30th January, David Redfern, former AQA A2 chief examiner visited the school to host a geography conference for Bloxham students and those from local schools.

David is a co-author of several geography textbooks, including "AQA A2 Geography" by Barker, Skinner & Redfern and "Get the Grade: AQA AS/A2 Geography," and has also written a number of articles for geographical publications.

The all day conference was attended by Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth Form students and aimed to improve performance in A-level geography exams.  David explained the new AQA syllabus, then covered topics such as coastal systems and landscapes, global systems and global governance, plate tectonics, world cities and weather & climate. He also looked at developing essay skills and gave a staff workshop.

The conference was of great benefit to students currently studying and revising for their a-level geography exams. A huge thank you to David Redfern for giving such an informative and helpful talk.
