The academic curriculum is built around six core subjects – including separate Sciences and a Modern Foreign Language - and four further subjects, chosen from a broad range – including Latin, Food & Nutrition and Drama. Subjects are taught separately by specialists in small class sizes, with streaming for GCSE courses – earlier in English and Maths.

Choices are made during the Third Form when the whole curriculum is sampled. Increasingly, independent learning is encouraged and all students are provided with a laptop in the Fourth Form. The Library remains open throughout the working day and evening.
