Bloxham marched into the quarter finals of the National Schools U14 Cup, organised by the School Sports Magazine, with a gritty 24-7 victory against a strong Dr Challoner’s side in Amersham.

Although they had most of the possession in the first half, the Bloxham team found it hard to get on top, with the long lay-off since their last game in December contributing to a scrappy game, and they only led 5-0 at half time. Tries by Junior D, Harry A and Will T, two of them converted by captain Noah C, eventually saw Bloxham establish a 19-0 lead before Dr Challoner’s scored one of their own. Bloxham finished strongly with Junior scoring his second try to seal the win. Bloxham will now have to wait to discover their opponents in the last eight, but they already know that it will be a home fixture at last.

The team remains unbeaten, having won all of their 12 matches this season.

Well done to the team and their coach Mr Lovering on their great achievement in reaching the final stages of a national tournament in their first season together.
