We are delighted to congratulate Amber Reed, a Sports Coach here at Bloxham, on her phenomenal achievement this summer, winning gold in the Women’s Rugby World Cup

Amber Reed, who is a valued member of the Sports Department here at Bloxham School, has been busy all summer training for and then competing at the Women’s Rugby World Cup. Clearly, all the training and effort has paid dividends, with Amber and her team putting in some fantastic performances throughout the competition. The ladies now have more than a few reasons to celebrate, having conclusively beaten Canada in the final 21-9 to be crowned champions.

Amber, who plays Centre for the England team, is adapting to the enormity of the achievement of her and her team mates:

From an England perspective we have waited twenty years to emulate the success of the 1994 team… It is an incredible feeling to be a world champion and I would not have wished to share that moment with anyone other than my 25 fellow players and the staff team who were on the pitch that night.
