Senior Boys' Boarding House - Seymour House
Seymour House is a purpose built boys’ house set centrally within the campus next to the school swimming pool and overlooking the Headmaster’s Lawn.
The house is home to approximately 60 boys and is named after Derek Seymour, a former Headmaster of the school. The Sixth Form boys are accommodated in single study bedrooms, whilst the Fifth Form occupy single or double studies. Fourth Form boys either have two or three-bedded studies; whilst the Third Form work in shared studies and Boarders sleep in a dormitory.
Housemaster, Matt Bull, lives in a house adjacent to the Boarding House, connected via his study, and the resident Assistant Housemaster has a self-contained flat within the building. The Housemaster is assisted by a team of tutors, Upper Sixth Prefects and Matron and her team.
This year, Seymour House Captain is Patrick McNamara.

Matthew Bull returned to Bloxham in September 2015, having been an Assistant Housemaster here between 2002 and 2009. This is Matt's fourth year as Housemaster of Seymour. He lives in Seymour with his wife, Kristina, and their three small children. Matt is an avid sports lover with a life long association to hockey. He is a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club and tries to spend as much time as he can at Lords during the summer. He is the proud owner of a dilapidated camper van and enjoys the outdoor life, provided there is some sunshine. Alongside this, Matt enjoys reading and would one day (like everybody else!) like to write a book. Matt splits his time between his duties as Housemaster and Assistant Head (Broader Curriculum), also assisting with sport duties occassionally, having been Head of Sport at a school in Oxford for a number of years.
Greg Webber became Assistant Housemaster of Seymour at the beginning of 2018, and is also a Third to Fifth Form tutor in house. Greg teaches biology as well as Lower School chemistry and physics and enjoys coaching rugby and cricket. Greg went to Christ College Brecon as a pupil and then went on to study at the University of Exeter, completing his PGCE through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. He has enjoyed a strong cricketing upbringing, through Glamorgan County Cricket Club, as well as playing Premier League Cricket for Exeter CC whilst at university and Cardiff CC for several years. Outside of cricket he enjoys playing guitar and supporting Tottenham Hotspur. Greg lives with his partner Laura, a portrait and landscape artist, and they enjoy travelling, festivals and returning home to Wales when they can.
Seymour Tutor Team
On joining Bloxham, each student is assigned a tutor. Tutors mentor and guide their tutees, monitoring and supporting their academic, spiritual, social, and physical development. They are in regular touch with a student’s home, to share with parents and guardians how the student is developing, passing on information and sharing ideas about how each individual can be helped to mature and grow.
