Hockey is our most successful sport and we are justly proud of our pupils’ record of county, regional and – more recently – national honours.
We offer all pupils extensive opportunities to take part in hockey, running seven senior sides for the girls and two Exham House teams during the Michaelmas Term; and 11 senior teams and four junior seven-a-side teams for boys during the Lent Term. Our facilities are excellent: we have two high-quality artificial turf pitches which means everyone can complete most of their training on a perfect surface.
Our hockey coaches are well qualified, experienced and enthusiastic, boasting past and present national league playing and coaching credentials. They are complemented by a hockey graduate and overseas gap student of international calibre to ensure the pupils have plenty of young positive role models.
For our more able hockey players we offer specialised strength and conditioning programmes as well as one-on-one training sessions. We also have close links with Banbury Hockey Club, providing transport to their junior and senior training twice a week.
