Polo Squad Win SUPA group .
The 3 man Bloxham team of Sam Offord, Jay Warren and Robin Spicer, got off to a real flier when they whipped Fettes (Tony Blair's old school!), 4-0 in a 6 minute chukka!
That impressive win meant that a 1-1 draw secured in the second chukka against Godolphin and Latymer was enough to book a place in the final.
Their final opponents turned out to be Marlborough College who had looked impressive in winning their pool. When Bloxham fell behind to a well crafted Marlborough goal it might have been expected that the floodgates would open against a more experienced opponent. Bloxham had other ideas and they roared back at Marlborough and through a mixture of smart marking and good finishing they rode out a 3-1 winner much to the delight of the boys and their loyal parents! A brilliant effort - our polo is going places again!
Robin Spicer has accepted an invitation to play in a development squad polo team going to the USA in the Easter holiday for a week long polo course which will give him some very valuable experience which will benefit the Bloxham team in the Summer competitions.
Robin was awarded the ' Most Promising Player' prize at the SUPA tournament capping a great day!
