Founderstide Paralympian Wins Bronze!
Congratulations to our Olympic visitor (Heather Stanning) and Paralympian (Ben Quilter), who both made it to their respective podium during their competitions as part of London 2012.
Heather Stanning won her Gold in the rowing at Eton Dorney while Ben's bronze came in the Paralympics Judo event. We send our congratulations to them , to all Team GB and Paralympic GB squads.
Inspiring a Generation? - We certainly think so!
Paralympian Ben Quilter gave an inspiration talk to his audience at Founderstide.
I wouldn't be half the man I am today if it wasn't for my sight condition.
Career highlights:
Ben became Britain's first visually impaired judo world champion in 12 years when he won gold at the 2010 World Championships. Has also won two silver European Championship medals.
How it all began:
Began judo lessons aged seven after his brother signed up to take classes. He pursued the sport as a hobby throughout his childhood before being asked to train with the national team. He earned his first international cap in 2001.
