The Scholars Society involves the school’s award holders in a programme of events and visits designed to supplement and enhance the school curriculum. This serves to widen their horizons and stretch the more able. Recent visits have been to lectures, exhibitions, opera and ballet. Recent visiting speakers have included an art historian, a US diplomat, a professor of biophysics and a senior civil servant. Increasingly, pupils themselves have delivered talks to their peers, on topics as varied as political correctness, game theory and the legacy of the British Empire.
