Duke of Edinburgh Gold Training Expedition June 2011
The Brecon Beacons
12 Recently twelve Lower Sixth Formers took part in their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Training Expedition. The expedition took place in the Brecon Beacons and was a welcome escape (particularly for the staff) from the bustle of daily school life!
Over three days the pupils walked 60km taking in some stunning scenery in one of the more isolated areas of the UK. For some pupils this was their first experience of an expedition and they all learnt a great deal. The weather was not kind which made their achievements even greater.

It was good to see pupils taking on challenges they would normally shy away from and succeeding, whilst at the same time learning a great deal about themselves in the process.
