Lower School (11+)
Welcome to Lower School, home to Bloxham School's youngest pupils. Lower School is a hive of activity, characterised by a constant buzz of energy and exploration. It is an exciting time for these First and Second Form pupils, who seem to have boundless enthusiasm for everything they do, both inside and outside the classroom.
Pupils enter Lower School having successfully sat the 11+ Entrance Exam, and go on to spend two years there as they prepare for life in the Bloxham senior school. In small, co-educational tutor groups, pupils are guided through a broad curriculum and extensive programme of activities as we start laying the foundations of a Bloxham education. Academic challenge is balanced by new experiences, designed to nurture and develop each individual's character. We place great importance on helping pupils to feel a part of Bloxham life, pairing each First Former with a Second Form buddy and providing lots of opportunities to mix with senior school children. This ensures each member of Lower School feels fully included in the wider school community.
Lower School is where pupils begin their journey to independence. Supported in a safe and secure environment, pupils acquire the qualities and skills needed to flourish throughout their time at Bloxham.
