About the Sixth Form

Most Bloxhamists stay on for A and AS Levels. Others join at this stage to create a Sixth Form of 150 students. A wide range of subject choices is offered together with a lively social and personal development programme. Full details of these choices and the 'blocking' arrangements are available on the website. There is no school uniform in the 6th form but a dress code operates. Entry is achieved by interview and a satisfactory performance at GCSE level. In approved cases for overseas students, entry tests may be taken under supervision in their own country. Academic and other scholarships are available

AS and A Level Courses for 2009 / 2010
The decision about the A Levels to be studied is one of the most important that confronts a boy or girl. Bloxham has always believed that every pupil should aim to achieve his or her personal best intellectual level, and I am sure that this is a view that parents will share. The increasing numbers in Higher Education have made it possible to secure places on a degree course with comparatively modest A level grades, but many courses and many careers remain highly competitive. While there is a great deal more to education than the gaining of academic qualifications, there is still every incentive to aim for the best ones possible.
