Intellectual growth
Intellectual challenge and personal growth will mark the two years in the Sixth Form. These two years will also be a time of unrivalled enjoyment among good friends, enthusiastic teachers and beautiful surroundings.
Sixth Formers will have access to excellent facilities and expertise in every area of their academic work; in the university and careers advice, in sport, art, music and drama. The new library complex offers a perfect opportunity for independent learning in preparation for the university years that lie ahead for almost all Bloxham 6th Form students.
They will also be part of a friendly community where people are accepted for who they are. Both the school and the other pupils readily recognise the different contributions each member of the Sixth Form makes.
What will you learn?
You will be able to take a wide range of subjects which include: Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Design and Technology, Theatre Studies, Economics, English Literature, French, Geography, German, Government and Politics, History, ICT, Latin, Mathematics, Music, PE, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies and Spanish. We offer Business Studies in both the traditional form of AS and A2 and also in a new syllabus for ACVE. Both of these courses are welcomed by universities.
Sixth Formers will be asked to choose four AS subjects from which they choose three A2 levels, unless they have particular reasons for maintaining four to A2 level. Classes are rarely larger than 12, and often much smaller, and the atmosphere is open, friendly and conducive to good discussion and the development of interesting ideas.
