One of the unplanned fruits of running the fundraising campaign for new buildings was an offer of support from people who chose not to support bricks and mortar, preferring ro give their financial help in other directiuons. in particular, mention must be made of Mr and Mrs John wicks: Lizzie Wicks (the daughter of John Fiori, a much-loved Housemaster who taught at Bloxham 1953- 1983)was the first female bloxhamist and her two sons followed in her footsteps. John and Lizzie experienced sudden financial difficulties and the school was able to give assistance to see their children through until the end of their education.happily, many years later, circumstances have reversedthemselves and John and Lizzie, following the sale of their successful busines, have been able to make a significant donation towards helping others who find themselves in such circumstances.
