Sport at Bloxham School
Bloxham has a superb sporting programme. We have first class facilities and talented in-house and external coaches who work with all of our teams. Sport is for the entire Bloxham community, with over 90% of pupils representing the school in competitive fixtures and 100% taking part in three coached sessions every week.
We punch above our weight and have a strong record against other schools. We normally progress to the latter stages of national competitions in rugby and hockey, and have enjoyed particular success in clay pigeon shooting, for which we have won the National Clay Pigeon title twice in the past three years, and in equestrian, where our team is well represented at the Horse of the Year Show and Olympia. We expect that around 30-50 of our pupils represent the school at county level or higher in any given year in their best sport.
The major team sports offer pre-season training camps at the school, and sports tours regularly take our pupils to various countries to compete against teams in Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.
